Imagine yourself relaxing by a crackling fire while enjoying a crafting workshop, great food, and cozy accommodations at a historic country inn in Vermont this spring. Designed to ward off the mud season blues, the Inn at Baldwin Creek offers three "Handcrafted Getaways" featuring crafting workshops and the celebrated farmhouse cuisine of Chef Doug Mack. Try your hand at rug hooking, wool-felt quilting, and gardening while enjoying fabulous fare and comfy lodging, just thirty minutes from Burlington or Middlebury.

9:00-Noon: Crafting or Gardening workshop with refreshment break
12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch and free time
1:00-4:00 PM: Workshop continues, includes mid-afternoon break
6:30 PM: Farm-fresh Dinner by Chef Doug Mack 

SUNDAY

8 AM: Breakfast
9:00-Noon: Crafting or Gardening workshop with refreshment break
12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch and good byes

What's Included:

Each Getaway package includes Friday and Saturday night accommodations at the Inn with "chef-crafted" meals: welcome dessert reception, breakfast and lunch both Saturday and Sunday, morning and afternoon refreshments during class and Saturday night dinner.  PLUS nine hours of hands-on instruction, and all taxes and gratuities. Each getaway is limited to 12-15 participants.

About the Instructors

ED BURKE (Gardening) is an accomplished gardener and owner of Rockydale Gardens, a local nursery known regionally for unusual woody and perennial plantings.  Ed is ever ready to share his passion and knowledge of gardening and garden design.  www.rockydalegardens.com

KELLY SWEENEY (Gardening) is an avid gardener who owns Hallick Hill Greenhouses in Waltham. She specializes in annuals and the use of annuals as both an accessory and as the main focal point in a garden.  Kelly, head gardener at Basin Harbor Club for 15 years, is sought after for her speaking and teaching engagements which are impassioned with her love of annuals and color in the garden.

STEPHANIE ASHWORTH- KRAUSS (Rug Hooking) is a fourth-generation rug hooker who owns and operates Green Mountain Rug School and a rug shop, Green Mountain Hooked Rugs in Montpelier, Vermont. She offers a wide assortment of wool, yarn, hooking supplies, custom dyeing, rug repair and cleaning, and classes. www.GreenMountainHookedRugs.com

TAMERA BRECKENRIDGE (Wool-Felt Quilting) owns Maplewood Quilts in Northfield, Vermont and has been a quilter for 20 years. She sells fabric, books, threads, patterns, kits, quilts, and handspun yarn, and offers classes for quilters. www.maplewoodquilts.com

Refund Policy

In the event of a cancellation, refunds (less $25 and any craft fee) will be made up to three weeks prior to the Getaway. If a cancellation is received less than 21 days in advance, refunds (less $25 and craft fee) will be made only if we are able to re-book your package. The Inn at Baldwin Creek reserves the right to cancel any class with under 5 students, in which case full refunds will be made.
